Handivalides: strong advocacy for disabled students

Five years after the Act of February 11, 2005 for "equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship of people with disabilities, students are more mobilized than ever. Objectives: to support the political institutions of disabilities and develop a national student movementfor equal opportunities for disabled youth.
In five years, the campaign Handivalides has become an unavoidable event that mobilizes and brings together makes you think all actors – governments, student unions, students with disabilities, employers, government … – The conditions of student life and the employability of young adults with disabilities. And because the integrationation requires above all a better understanding, awareness campaign Handivalides each year thousands of young people in the situation of disabled students.
Lyon, Lille, Nantes, Paris, Marseille and other cities will establish a total of 37 days of mobilization. Activities such as a meal to the blind or demonstration of adapted sports will be organized as panel discussions between managers flablissement, disability services, sociologists, student associations and students with disabilities.
The campaign will be launched Thursday, February 11 in Paris during a conference on "5 years after the Disability Act, student life is it accessible to students with disabilities?" and the screening of a documentary film in which young people with disabilities demonstrate and share their experience of access to educational opportunities, employment,x leisure, transport and housing. For the second consecutive year, Marie-Amelie LEFUR be the godmother of the event. Amputated below the right knee following a serious motorcycle accident five years ago, she is now aged 21 years and student STAPS. Champion athletic, she has particulartion to his record two silver medals (long jump and 100 meter race) in the last Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
